Research themes

Neonatology
Studies of the conditions most often fatal in the first weeks of life in Nigeria: admission hypothermia, neonatal tetanus, neonatal seizures and severe jaundice, alongside practical low-cost responses such as locally fabricated phototherapy and nurse-led resuscitation training.
Paediatric Nephrology
Patterns of kidney disease seen in hospitalised children, from congenital nephrotic syndrome and acute kidney injury to the everyday problem of childhood enuresis and the home remedies families rely on.
HIV & Public Health
Evaluation of prevention-of-mother-to-child-transmission programmes and the health of HIV-exposed infants, alongside adolescent HIV work through the NIH-funded iCARE Nigeria collaboration: treatment adherence, viral suppression and the mental health of adolescents living with HIV and their caregivers.
